FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: geodetic antenna, which includes a circular metal base with upper and lower surfaces, an antenna element placed at the centre of the upper surface for receiving radio signals and screens arranged concentrically around the antenna element to form resonant slots in between, and intermediate impedance planes; the antenna further includes a radioparent radome and a low-noise amplifier with a microwave socket; the upper surface of the base is in the form of a stepped truncated right cone, the lower surface of the base has a recess at the centre; each screen is made on a dielectric substrate and has at one side an impedance plane in the form of a frequency-selective surface; the screens are in the form of rings, the opening of each ring corresponding to the shape and size of the step on which the ring is mounted, wherein the number of screens N is equal to the number of operating ranges M of the antenna element; the depth of each slot Ls from the edge of the metal base is equal to a quarter of the delayed wavelength λg at the centre frequency of the delay band of the frequency-selective surface of the screen, situated over said slot Lskgk/4, where k=1,…N is the number of the screen, beginning from the upper most.

EFFECT: enabling suppression of the multibeam effect from the underlying surface while simultaneously widening the antenna beam pattern at small elevation angles and improving the stability of the phase centre thereof.
