FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: light-emitting diode (LED) module consists of a LED and a mounting tool. The LED has a translucent housing with a base and a lens in the upper part, inside of which there is a LED emitter. Electrodes of the LED extend outwards from the housing through side walls at an angle of 180 degrees relative to each other and perpendicular to the vertical axis thereof, thereby forming electrical contacts on the sides of the housing. The mounting tool is in the form of an insulating housing with holes and recesses and/or grooves under the housing and LED contacts in which there are also spring-loaded contacts of the mounting tool, which are in the form of metal plates having leads outside the insulating housing. The LED is connected to the mounting tool by placing the LED in the insulating housing and locking its contacts with the contacts of the mounting tool through translational and rotational movement of the LED.
EFFECT: easy connection of the LED module to an electrical circuit and replacement thereof.
