SUBSTANCE: system contains a beverage preparation apparatus suitable for accommodation of a capsule and pumping of liquid into such capsule; the apparatus contains a device for reading a linear barcode, a capsule with side walls, a bottom wall and a top wall, the said capsule suitable to contain a beverage preparation ingredient to be dissolved. The capsule contains a barcode sequence repeatedly printed on the capsule peripheral section. Each sequence is positioned along an arc having a linear projection length, the sequence composed of dots positioned along the said arc at such distance from each other that their dot image projections along the linear segments are positioned equally apart.
EFFECT: increasing the useful area of the capsule surface for placement of additional information other than that read by the linear barcode reading device such as information on the manufacturer or other consumer information.
