SUBSTANCE: disposable absorbent product (10) extends along a longitudinal axis (10y) between front and back longitudinal ends (21, 23) of the product (10) and along a transverse axis (10x). The product (10) has a top sheet (12) defining an interior face (IF) of the product (10) configured to face a wearer thereof during use, and a back sheet (14) overlaying the top sheet (12), the back sheet (14) defining an exterior face (EF) of the product (10). An absorbent core (16) is placed between the top sheet (12) and the back sheet (14) for storing fluid secreted by the wearer of the product (10). The product (10) also includes a first pair of fastening components (40), each being formed from a partially cut-out portion of the disposable absorbent product (10) so as to be pivotally connected to a remainder of the product (10), such that pivotal movement of the fastening components (40) relative to a remainder of the product (10) defines at least one opening (51) which extends between the interior and exterior faces (IF, EF) of the product (10).
