SUBSTANCE: invention relates to digital information transmission and is intended for use in communication system decoders. The method includes presenting, at the transmitting side, each data unit containing a sequence of K P-bit information symbols in the form of a rectangle and adding redundant symbols to said unit, and a the receiving side - decoding each said unit taking into account information and redundant symbols thereof, wherein the number of bits of each of the redundant symbols is P≥2, a set of p-th bits of the redundant symbols is determined at the transmitting side by a set of the same p-th bits of K information symbols, and each p-th bit of the result of decoding each information symbol at the receiving side is determined taking into account the set of p-th bits of the row of information and redundant symbols of the unit.

EFFECT: high reliability of data transmission.
