FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: for synthesis of alumina-magnesia spinel aluminium oxide is mixed with magnesium carbonate at stoichiometric radio and annealed at spinel-forming conditions. The powder of aluminium oxide and spinel is used to get the suspension to be dispersed and spray-dried to obtain the moulding powder with spherical pellets. Blanks are formed and annealed at 1550-1650°C. For production of ceramics the mix of alumina-magnesia spinel aluminium oxide is used at the following radio of components, wt %: alumina-magnesia in terms of magnesium oxide - 0.1-0.3, aluminium oxide making the rest.

EFFECT: high-density ceramic material of high physical and mechanical properties and meeting the medical requirements to implants.
