METHOD OF PRODUCING PERICLASE-SPINEL CERAMICS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC C04B35/04 C04B35/626 C04B35/64

Abstract RU 2719291 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refractory industry and can be used for production of burnt heat-resistant periclase-spinel refractory articles. Method of producing periclase-spinel ceramics involves firing a ceramic-forming mixture of magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) and aluminium oxide (γ-Al2O3). Mixture of magnesium carbonate and aluminium oxide is obtained by weight method in the following ratio, wt. %: 90 MgCO3, 10 γ-Al2O3 using magnesian concentrate with MgCO3 content of not less than 92 %. Grinding is carried out in a ball mill at 250 rpm for 15 minutes, mixed in a vibration disc mill for 20 minutes, then two-side pressing without binder at 40 kN is performed. Samples are annealed at 1550 °C for 1 hour with stepwise heating at intermediate temperatures of 800 °C, 900 °C, 1000 °C, 1200 °C, 1400 °C for 0.5 hour.

EFFECT: technical result consists in production of periclase-spinel refractory products, having high mechanical characteristics, with reduction of labour and power inputs.
