FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing ceramic materials based on double oxides and can be used in refractory industry, metallurgy, radio engineering, power engineering and heat engineering. The method of producing ceramics based on an aluminium-magnesium spinel involves mixing powdered aluminium oxide and magnesium oxide in stoichiometric ratio, drying, moulding and firing in conditions which facilitate spinel-formation. Once the spinel is formed, it is crushed, powder of nano-size fractions of magnesium oxide and gallium oxide powder are added, with the following ratio of components, wt %: aluminium-magnesium spinel - 53.5-74.5; magnesium oxide - 25-45; gallium oxide - 0.5-1.5. The obtained mass is then simultaneously dried and granulated in a gas stream, after which it is remoulded and fired at temperature not higher than 1500°C.
EFFECT: high compression- and bending strength and electrical resistance of articles.
