FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat strengthened alloys based on aluminium, namely to the method of deformation-heat treatment of high strength alloys of Al-Cu-Mg system, used as structural material for part of aerospace equipment and transport machine building. The method includes homogenizing annealing of the cast ingots at 450-525°C for 2-24 h, solution treatment at 510-530°C for 1-2 h, water quenching, further cold-working and artificial ageing in temperature range 160-195°C for 2-3 h, wherein prior to solution treatment the hot-working if the blanks by equal channel angular pressing with actual deformation degree ε 1-2 at 340-450°C, and cold-working is performed to total degree 1-60%. After the homogenizing annealing prior to the equal channel angular pressing the blanks can be cooled inside the switched off furnace to 20-100°C for maximum 12 h.
EFFECT: improved mechanical properties of the semi-finished products of the alloy of said system keeping plasticity at level of the initial material, thus increasing reliability and efficiency of items for aerospace equipment and transport machine building, manufactured from the produced semi-finished materials.
