FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: seed treatment of spring crops is carried out using polymer composition of a mixture of a hydrophobic polymer and polyvinyl alcohol. The seeds are dried to form a film on the surface of each seed. Sowing in open ground is carried out with use of a sowing-machine during the summer-autumn period, but before the onset of the ground freezing. The hydrophobic polymer can be used as copolymers of vinyl acetate or vinylidene chloride, or ethylene, or acrylamide, chloroprene, or methacrylate or acrylate.

EFFECT: expansion of range of methods of sowing of spring crops, reduction of ripening terms, and reduction of energy consumption for sowing.
