FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in producing filler, UV stabilisers, pigments in rubber, rubber mixtures, plastics, dyes, inks, toner, lacquer, paper, pastes, batteries, cosmetics, bitumen, concrete, refractory and construction materials. A reactor for producing furnace soot comprises combustion, reaction and soot formation prevention zones arranged along its axis. In the combustion zone, a stream of a hot exhaust gas is formed by burning fuel in an oxygen-containing gas and feeding said exhaust gas without passing through a necked portion into the reaction zone. In the first third of the reaction zone, the hot exhaust gas is mixed with 20-58 wt % of material for producing soot by blowing or spraying in a radial direction. The remaining amount is blown or sprayed upstream in at least another point. Soot formation is stopped in the respective zone by spraying water.
EFFECT: obtained soot is characterised by CTAB surface area of 20-49 m2/g; moulding sample oil adsorption higher than 90 ml/100 g, sum of oil adsorption and moulding sample oil adsorption higher than 235 ml/100 g, quartile coefficient greater than 1,60 and weight-average particle diameter greater than 200 nm.
