FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for determination of strength properties of oil well pump rods is developed with stages whereat: strength properties of oil well pump rods are determined on the basis of data on pressure of exposure received from pressure applying unit and data on measured deviation received from deviation measuring unit by means of calculation unit of the device intended for determination of strength properties; decision is taken on compliance of strength properties for all oil well pump rods with preset requirements if certain strength properties of the above oil well pump rod meet the first preset strength threshold value; or decision is taken on additional measurement of the next multitude of oil well pump rods if determined strength properties of the above oil well pump rod do not meet the first preset strength threshold value and meet the second preset strength threshold value; or decision is taken on non-compliance of strength properties for all oil well pump rods with preset requirements if certain strength properties of the above oil well pump rod do not meet the second preset strength threshold value.
EFFECT: reduced time interval for determination of strength properties for oil well rod pumps in field conditions and simultaneously in increase of determination authenticity.
