SUBSTANCE: invention relates to anaerobic fermentation of sediments of effluents and can be used at whatever effluents treatment stations. Claimed digester comprises sealed tank 1 with coaxial webs 11 to divide it into external chamber 12, sediment compaction chamber 13 and internal chamber of fermentation communicated openings 14, initial sediment and compacted feed pipes 3, pipes to discharge clarified sediment 5, compacted sediment 6 and fermented sediment 7 and gas removal pipes 9. Sealed tank 1 has external heat insulation 2. Openings 15 arranged in coaxial webs 11 accommodate stacks of screens 16 filled with granular material. Openings 15 with coarse-grain material 18 are placed at bottom part 17 of coaxial web 11 dividing the external chamber 12 and compaction chamber 13. Openings 15 with fine-grain material 20 are arranged at top part 19 of coaxial web 11 dividing the compaction chamber 13 and internal fermentation chamber 14. Said chambers comprise additional hollow polymer fillers 21 and screens 8 at inlets of the sediment discharge pipes 6, 7. Sediment feed pipes 3, 4 are arranged tangentially relative to compaction chamber 13 and fermentation chamber 14.
EFFECT: higher efficiency, lower power input.
