FIELD: defectoscopy.
SUBSTANCE: using for ultrasonic (NS) non-destructive testing of products, in particular railway rails. Summary of the invention is in the reach zone of the directivity pattern of the vertical probing electroacoustic transducer (EAT) directed through the head, the neck to the base of the rail, additional receiving EATs are installed. Mirror-shadow way to detect suspicious sections of the rail by all EAT, and through a joint analysis of the results of all EATs determine the depth of occurrence of defects.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of detecting and determining the position of defects in the rail with the use of a technological, small-scale searcher for a multichannel ultrasonic flaw detector.
