FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pollutant-adsorbing polymer. Polymer contains two or more monomer units, selected from the group, consisting of: a) non-ionic monomer units, including non-ionic hydrophilic monomer unit, with non-ionic hydrophilic monomer unit originating from acrylamide; b) anionic monomer units, originating from anionic monomers, selected from the group, consisting of monomers, which have, at least, one carboxyl function; c) cationic monomer units, with cationic monomer unit being quaternary ammonium monomer unit; d) zwitterionic monomer units, originating from zwitterionic monomers, selected from the group, consisting of sulphobetaine monomers, phosphobetaine monomers and carboxybetaine monomers; and e) their mixtures. Polymer has pollutant adsorption index, at least, 38 mg and contains, at least, 90 wt % of monomer units of group a), with the remaining part of polymer (not more than 10 wt %) containing one or more monomer units, selected from groups b), c) and d).
EFFECT: obtaining polymers with improved pollutant adsorption.
