FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: fluorescent indicator is a suspension of dispersed polymer particles containing a fluorescent dye in the form of quasi-colloids in a hydrocarbon solvent, capable of generating fluorescent radiation under the effect of radiation. Fluorescent dyes are used, wherein the said fluorescent dyes are capable of generating fluorescent radiation under the effect of near-UV radiation and the size of the quasi-colloidal particles ranges from 10 to 500 mcm with the content of the fluorescent dye per particle of 3 to 90 wt %. A method of labelling oil and oil products is also disclosed.

EFFECT: enabling express-inspection of oil and oil products and higher reliability.
