CAR BODY FRONT MODULE Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC B60R19/26 B62D21/15

Abstract RU 2574041 C2

FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transport engineering. Claimed module comprises two lengthwise components arranged one on each side, and bumper support. The latter is located ahead of two lengthwise components and coupled with their front edges by the joint between the appropriate deformable element with the radiator frame. The latter is arranged between said lengthwise components and between deformable elements to support the cooling unit. At collision, the bumper support thrusts against the radiator frame at the first deformation stage after deformable element deformation. The radiator frame shifts through limited spacing backward toward the passenger compartment. After radiator frame displacement, the bumper support thrusts, at the second stage, against the cooling unit point to displace it backward toward the passenger compartment.

EFFECT: better protection of cooling unit.
