FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for chemical-thermal processing of friction pair components from martensitic steels includes volume quenching of steel blanks and tempering, mechanical processing and nitration of components to specified depth, carried out in two stages: initially at temperature 500-540°C for 10-20 hours, and then at temperature 540-570°C for 20-40 hours. After tempering blanks are heated at rate 30-50°C/hour to temperature 450°C, exposed at temperature 450±10°C for 2-5 hours and air-cooled.
EFFECT: increase of contact-fatigue strength of components and increase of workability of highly-loaded components of friction pairs.
