INTRALUMINAL DEVICE WITH IMPROVED FLEXIBILITY AND WEAR RESISTANCE Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61F2/915 A61F2/90 A61F2/844

Abstract RU 2574992 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to dilatable intraluminal grafts (stents) insertable into a body canal or duct, and applicable particularly to restore blood vessels narrowed or occluded as a consequence of a disease. The stent insertable into the patient's vessel comprises a tubular element and a number of bridges. The tubular element has anterior and posterior open ends and a long axis extending in between. The tubular element has the first smaller diameter to insert the stent into the vessel and the second greater diameter to insert the stent into the vessel. The tubular element comprises a number of adjoining rings, each of which has proximal and distal open ends in relation to the long axis. The rings comprise a number of longitudinal bars and a number of loops connecting the adjoining bars circumferentially and forming a line of substantially S- or Z-patterned projections and sockets. Each bridge comprises an elongated cylinder element. The bridges connect the loops on the adjoining rings in the repeated pattern. Each of the above connections between the loops and rings forms a connection area, wherein the repeated area is caused by a relation of the total number of loops for this end of one of the adjoining rings to the number of the connection areas for the same end of the same ring; this relation is expressed by an integer. The bridges have a non-linear curved profile between connection points of the bridges and loops. The circular length of the tubular element is related to the length of the elongated bar element of the bridge as more than 4 and less than 5.

EFFECT: invention is characterised by necessary stability between the adjoining rings, thereby making it possible to absorb torsion, bend and axial elongation/compression deformities.
