FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of water separation and removal of acetic acid from flow, discharged from reactor during oxidation of p-xylene, with application of energy-supplying combined distillation, which includes supply of discharged flow to first dehydration column, which is in reduced pressure condition, after which output flow is passed though each processing device, to release water from upper part of first dehydration column and to remove first concentrated acetic acid from lower part of first dehydration column, and supply of first concentrated acetic acid, released from lower part of first dehydration column, into medium part of second dehydration column, which is under atmospheric pressure or in condition of increased pressure, to remove final concentrated acetic acid from lower part of second dehydration column, working pressure of first dehydration column constitutes from -78 to -49 kPa (exc.) (from -0.8 to -0.5 kg/cm2 (exc.)), and work pressure of condenser of second dehydration column constitutes from 10 to 167 kPa (exc.) (from 0.1 to 1.7 kg/cm2 (exc.)), and condenser of second dehydration column acts as reboiler of first dehydration column, applying difference of pressures between first dehydration column and second dehydration column, so that energy, supplied into reboiler of second dehydration column, is applied as energy of distillation of first dehydration column.
