FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: laser locator comprises a system for automatic tracking and control of matching of wave fronts of received and heterodyne laser radiation in the plane of the photosensitive area of the photodetector unit of the laser locator. The laser locator also includes a system for tracking and compensating for Doppler frequency shift changes of the received laser radiation when tracking high-speed space objects. Highly efficient processing of received laser location signals by optical heterodyning is implemented based on high-precision acousto-optical elements for frequency shift and scanning of the laser radiation.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the laser location system in conditions of tracking remote moving space objects, high probability of the correct detection of moving objects in strong background noise conditions.
