FIELD: physics, navigation.
SUBSTANCE: coherent laser radar employs radiation of a single-frequency CO2-laser in heterodyne reception mode of radiation reflected from the object to be located. The radar employs a photodetector with a four-quadrant photosensitive layer. Four electrically non-connected elements of the photodetector form two summation-difference channels. The channels are used to adjust the azimuthal and elevation position of mutually collinear optical axes of a transmitting telescope and a receiving lens. The received radiation is situated symmetrically at the centre relative to all four quadrants of the photodetector. The transmitting telescope is inserted in the centre opening of the receiving lens and is provided with two slanted mirrors.
EFFECT: simple design.
