FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to measure complex excitation amplitudes of phased antenna array channels, particularly in standard radar equipment. The method is carried out using a device comprising a fixed probe, which includes a control signal generator 1 with an auxiliary antenna 2 and which generates an ultrahigh-frequency control signal which is emitted towards the phased antenna array 3. The ultrahigh-frequency control signal received by the phased antenna array reaches a receiver 4, which includes a mixer 5 and a heterodyne 6, where the said signal is amplified and converted to an intermediate frequency which corresponds to the operating bandwidth of an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) 7, which converts the received analogue signal to a digital form. The digital signal from the output of the ADC 7 is transmitted to a computer 8, which performs data processing. Also, by controlling the phased antenna array 3, the computer 8 provides alternate switching in all N-states of phase changers of each of the channels of the phased antenna array 3.

EFFECT: simple equipment used in measurements with the simultaneous improvement of measurement accuracy, enabling measurements in radar stations without fine tuning of the standard equipment thereof.
