FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: according to the method metal is melted in the steel-smelting unit, tapping is performed into the steel-pouring ladle, deoxidants adding and evacuation are performed in two stages. Before metal evacuation it is electrically heated up to the temperature 1630…1640°C, at the first stage of evacuation the negative pressure is supported in the vacuum chamber within 150…100 Mbar and the metal is blown with oxygen at the flow rate 1000…1500 m3/h, and duration of the first stage of evacuation is 15 min at the initial carbon content in steel no more than 0.05%, and 18 minutes at the carbon content above 0.06%, at the second stage after the termination of oxygen blowing the argon flow rate for stirring of metal is established at the level 1500 l/min, and evacuation is continued until achievement of negative pressure in the vacuum chamber no more than 1.2 Mbar, at this negative pressure metal is held 10 minutes at least.

EFFECT: invention allows to get steel with low carbon content.
