SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustics and specifically to hydroacoustic means for high-resolution illumination of an underwater environment. A hydroacoustic system for illuminating an underwater environment includes an underwater module in the form of a sealed housing in which there is an antenna unit, an emitted signal generating unit, having series-connected generator, tapped delay line and multichannel amplifier, and a received signal processing unit which includes series-connected receiving amplifier unit and analogue-to-digital converter unit, as well as a processing and graphical display unit connected by a cable communication line to the output of the underwater module; the antenna unit is in the form of a multielement linear antenna with combined radiation and reception modes, wherein the underwater module is provided with a multichannel switch which is connected between the linear antenna, the multichannel amplifier and the receiving amplifier unit, a control unit, the input of which is connected to the output of the analogue-to-digital converter unit, and the output is connected to the input of the generator, and an interface included between the control unit and the cable communication line, wherein the processing and graphical display unit is in the form of a surface module which includes, connected in series to the output of the interface, an unpacking unit, a focusing delay unit, a beam pattern former unit and a correlator and graphical display unit.

EFFECT: high speed of scanning space, high angular resolution and simple design of the antenna unit.
