SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of controlling a timed production conveyor for handling aircraft structural components. A timed production conveyor (1) comprises at least one workstation (3) with at least one processing machine (4). The processing sequence at the workstation (3) for a production cycle is determined by determining the expected or actual load of the working zone (8) by a structural component(s) or portion(s) of a structural component for the production cycle, determining from the load the overall operations (O) to be performed at said workstation (3) in said production cycle, and optimising the processing sequence when performing said operations (O). The optimised sequence is recorded in memory.

EFFECT: invention enables to optimise the sequence of processing aircraft structural components at each workstation.
