SUBSTANCE: invention relates to providing the contact information between network subscribers, in particular to the system and the method for the global directory service using objects of the electronic business card (EBC). The system facilitating the transmission of contact information between network subscribers comprises the server connected to the network, the database connected to the server and a set of subscriber terminals connected to the network. The terminal of each subscriber is implemented with a possibility of sending of contact information associated with the subscriber on the server in response to query by the named subscriber. The query enables compilation by the subscriber terminal of the contact information into the EBC object having text fields, and display of EBC text fields into object attributes contained in EBC object, and transmission of EBC object to the server for saving in the database.
