The method includes determining an object state at a first device and sending an object state indicator to a remote device, wherein the indicator is configured to enable the remote device to present the object state. The method may also include establishing audio and video communication with the remote device. Audio and video communication with the remote device may be established over a network. The object may be a book, and the state may be associated with a page number of the book. The method may also include displaying animated content based on the determined object state. The process of displaying animated content may include displaying an animated character making comments or asking questions relating to the content associated with the object.

EFFECT: invention enables to determine the state of a remote object based on a received indicator and present the object state to the user.
