SUBSTANCE: power-efficient content transfer can be achieved using variable methods. Using one exemplary method the content portions can be transferred from the first computing device to the second computing device for display. A wireless radio unit of the first computing device may be put into a low-power mode between the transfers of content portions. Using another exemplary method, one or more portions of the content can be decoded, displayed, encoded and transmitted by the first computing device for mirroring the second computing device. One or more other portions of the content can be transmitted in coded format to the second device without decoding and displaying by the first device. In another exemplary method, the wireless radio unit of the first device can be put into the low-power mode between the transfers of commands to the second computing device for content management.

EFFECT: opportunity for the improvement of technologies relating to power-efficient wireless display.
