FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing a modifying additive for a cement composition via the carboxymethylation of wood shavings comprises preparing an acidic component based on wood shavings by treating the wood shavings with the mixture which includes hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid and sulphuric acid, followed by neutralising the acidic component with an alkaline component, using sodium hydroxide; further adding unslaked lime to the acidic component, wherein the wood shavings in an amount of 14% of the total weight are first mixed with sulphuric acid in an amount of 70.6%, followed by consecutive mixing with acetic acid in an amount of 7%, hydrogen peroxide in an amount of 1.4% and unslaked lime in an amount of 7%; the alkaline component is prepared separately from wood shavings which are taken in an amount of 14% of the total weight and first mixed with sodium hydroxide in an amount of 70.6%, and then consecutively with acetic acid in an amount of 7%, hydrogen peroxide in an amount of 1.4% and unslaked lime in an amount of 7%, after which the finished acidic and alkaline components are mixed in a ratio of 1:1. The cement composition, which contains cement, a modifying additive prepared from a lignin-carbohydrate material and water, contains a modifying additive obtained via the carboxymethylation of wood shavings using the method described in claim 1, with the following ratio of components, wt %: cement 79.84-79.92, modifying additive 0.10-0.20, water - the balance.
EFFECT: high strength, frost resistance, corrosion resistance and low water absorption.
