FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: claimed resonator 250 comprises a casing 302 to make the chamber, a baffle 308 extending there through to divide the first and second expansion chambers 310, 312 thereof. The baffle 308 has at least one bore 314. The first and second discharge pipes extend through the said baffle 308 and the said casing 302. Every said pipe is communicated with a separate line of cylinders and include a perforated section. Perforated sections 316, 318 of both the pipes are located in separate expansion chambers 312, 310. The invention discloses resonator options for a split-flow exhaust system and the method of its operation.
EFFECT: attenuated frequencies inside the claimed system and reduced counter pressure developed by the resonator.
