FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: according to the invention, the method to detect a rotary flow breakaway in a compressor of a gas turbine engine comprises the following stages: they detect (E40) the abnormal acceleration of a gas turbine engine or an operation curve of a compressor, specific for disturbance in the gas turbine engine operation; they save in memory (E50) the reference temperature (EGTref), measured at the outlet of the turbine of the gas turbine engine at the moment of detection; they compare (E60) with a certain temperature threshold (SEGT) the difference between the current temperature (EGT), measured after detection at the outlet of the turbine, and the reference temperature (EGTref); and if the threshold is exceeded, they identify (E70) the presence of the rotary flow breakaway.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and reliability of the described method.
