SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by determining radial velocities of radio-frequency source and receiver carriers, the average wavelength of chirp signals, measuring the period of chirp signals and determining the spectral width of chirp signals using the formula: where fd(n) is the difference frequency of the signal at the output of the autocorrelation receiver, τd is the delay time of the received chirp signal, τu is the duration of the chirp signal, VrS(nTu) is the radial velocity of the radio-frequency source carrier, VrR(nTu) is the radial velocity of the receiver carrier, Tu is the period of chirp signals, λ is the average wavelength of chirp signals,
EFFECT: improving the accuracy of determining the spectral width of a chirp signal by taking into account the relative motion of the radio-frequency source carrier and the autocorrelation receiver carrier.
