FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for determination of density by irradiating the controlled substance by quanta flow from source of electromagnetic radiation. Invention consists in measurement of density by irradiating the controlled substance by quanta flow from source of electromagnetic radiation, registration of back-scattered radiation, use of intensity of radiation detector count and a calibration curve, the radiation detector count intensity is measured as well as count intensity of detector at different depth of immersion of protective shield, determining rated intensity of radiation detector count and spatial distribution of density of controlled substance by comparing the dependence of standard intensity of radiation detector counting from the depth of immersion of protective shield with calibration graphs of the standard count intensity of radiation detector from the depth of immersion of protective shield for controlled substance with various density distributions over depth.
EFFECT: technical result consists in upgraded accuracy of measurement of substances with density variable by depth.
