FIELD: ultrasonic visualization. SUBSTANCE: tested object is exposed to narrow, slightly diverging beam or set of narrow, slightly diverging beams of penetrating radiation. Distribution of radiation intensity along section of beam in presence and absence of object is recorded with the help of two- coordinate position-sensitive detector of high resolution. Redistribution of radiation intensity in beam with positioning of object in its path is caused by coherent radiation scattering through small angles by substances included in tested object. As function of coherent scattering of each substance is unambiguously determined by its structure it can be used for identification of substance by recorded redistribution of radiation intensity in beam during its comparison with results stored in data base for monitored substances. EFFECT: decreased radiation dose when generating image of internal structure of object with allowance for structural characteristics of substances included in it. 6 cl, 4 dwg
