FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used for infrared estimation of resistance of fingers to repeated cooling. This is carried out by using a thermal imager to measure local temperature of naked palm and fingers of right hand 30 min after adaptation of person to temperature of 25 °C in a room before and after dipping hand for 2 minutes in water with melting snow. Evaluation is performed daily at least 2 days before day person is scheduled to go out to freezing weather. On day of going out into cold, evaluation is conducted 2 hours before. During each next evaluation temperature is recorded in pad of index finger and centre of palm, cooling is performed several times every 10 minutes until stabilisation of dynamic temperature. Obtained results are analysed. If during repeated cooling temperature in finger is less than temperature of centre of palm, person's adaptation to repeated cooling is evaluated as bad. If temperature in finger is equal to or higher temperature of centre of palm, person's adaptation to repeated cooling is evaluated as satisfactory or good. Final conclusion is drawn, and a method of protecting fingers from frostbite is selected based results of last evaluation.

EFFECT: method provides accuracy and safety of evaluation of resistance of fingers to frostbite and timely protection during operation of fingers on frost.
