SUBSTANCE: dishwasher (1), in particular a household dish-washing machine with a washing chamber (2), having at least a substantially rectangular contour with front side (V), facing user in a working position, and comprises at least one washing rack (4, 5) which can hold cleaned items, to which, through a rotating arm (6, 7) associated with corresponding washing rack (4, 5), water (FW) and/or so-called washing solution (S) can be fed, wherein at edge of washing rack (4, 5) facing front side (V), or on door (3) closing said washing chamber (2) from front side (V), there is at least one receiving receptacle (27) for detergent.

EFFECT: said dishwasher is configured such that at least one spray arm (7) is displaced toward front side (V) along center (Q) of transverse axis of dishwasher (1) so that receptacle (27) for detergent, in particular for a solid detergent, is located at front end of washing rack (5), facing said door (3) or on said door (3) could be washed by a jet (29) of water (FW) and/or washing solution (S) exiting said spray arm (7), and such that in rear region of washing chamber (2) further from said door (3), there is an additional spray system (8, 9) with one or more additional outlets (13) for water (FW) and/or washing solution (S), which is located at least approximately in a horizontal plane of said spray arm (7).
