FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traffic safety on railway transport. Method involves determination of serviceability of on-board ALS equipment, a test sequence of code signals, using different combinations and changing combinations of code signals, repeating given test sequence of code signals with time delay between code signals, with distortions, then comparing preset sequence of code signals with readings of locomotive traffic light taking into account inertia of identifying signals of ALS equipment and time delay for switching on readings of locomotive traffic light. Method includes measuring time of switching readings of locomotive traffic light and noise-immunity of onboard ALS equipment on analysis time parameters of locomotive traffic light and switching with preset test sequences code signals, higher switching time, when its readings do not correspond to values given test sequence of code signals, lower level of noise-immunity of tested onboard ALS equipment.

EFFECT: higher objectivity of testing on-board equipment.
