SUBSTANCE: separation of foreign matters from air fed into the engine inner loop exploits the inertial separation of heavy particles in revolving vane channels of the gas turbine fan and their displacement from the blower central area into the outer loop peripheral area. Improved separation results from the better application of the fan vane revolution energy and kinetic energy of the particles axial displacement. Besides, it is brought about by the increase in the separation section length owing to the deceleration of the particles axial velocity and time intervals required for the separation of particles timed with that obtained at the particles crossing the fan vane width.
EFFECT: efficient air purification for the fan-duty gas turbine engine compressor.
