SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a training device comprising a training element (1) for the user performing exercises, an AC electric motor (3), and a frequency converter (5) made with the ability to control the AC electric motor (3), and the frequency converter (5) comprises the measuring means made with the ability to measure the voltage and current of the AC electric motor (3), and the calculating means made with the ability to calculate the magnetic state of the AC electric motor (3) using the measured voltage, the measured current, the reference torque and the reference magnetic flux for generating a torque of the AC electric motor (3). The training device additionally comprises a control unit (6) having a control machine module (27), made with the ability to calculate a reference magnetic flux and the reference torque using the planned total torque, and the control machine module (27) is connected to the frequency converter (5) and is made with the ability to transmit the reference magnetic flux and the reference torque in the frequency converter (5). In addition, the present invention comprises a training unit comprising a training device, and method of operating the training unit.

EFFECT: training device is easily applicable to muscle training exercise of a trainee.
