FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: according to the invention the gas flow with known content of the analysed gas in a mixture with nitrogen or other inert gas is equipped with electrochemical cell with cavity formed by tightly connected two discs of solid electrolyte with two pairs of electrodes located on opposite surfaces of these discs. FDC voltage is fed to electrodes of the value of 300-500 mV and polarity, providing for pumping of the analysed gas from the cavity of electrochemical cell in ambient gas medium followed by measuring located on its second end occurring in the cell, which is determined by diffusion flow of the analysed gas through solid electrolyte, and based on measured value of limit current the diffusion coefficient of the analysed gas in solid electrolyte is determined in accordance with given equation.

EFFECT: invention can be used for measurement of values of coefficients of diffusion in solid electrolytes with conductivity ions of analyzed gases, such as hydrogen, oxygen, fluorine, chlorine and some other.
