FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for demagnetisation of rails. Method for eliminating residual irregular magnetisation consists in that a demagnetising unit is fitted simultaneously with two electromagnets connected by different poles. Before and after installation place of electromagnets, before first and last mounted axles demagnetising unit, to measure and control input and output values of magnetisation of sections of rails installed Hall sensors. Results of measuring magnetic field strength of rails and absolute speed are recorded and analysed, and on basis of said information control electromagnets - their switching on or off.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of safety and provision of uninterrupted train movement.
