FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rolling. Method for cutting includes placing roll on roll table, roll application on surface of artificial defects, performance during movement of breakdown of ultrasonic inspection, processing obtained data using a software unit, marking and cutting rolled sections with major defects. Artificial defects are applied in form of flat-bottom holes along width of front cutting part of roll. Method includes analysis of ultrasonic inspection results and detecting said flat-bottomed holes and natural defects to obtain their coordinates in a virtual system of coordinates. Rolled stock is moved to section of marking cutting roll on finished sheets, wherein breakdown using optical sensors detect artificial defects for referencing actual coordinates of roll to virtual coordinates, combined virtual coordinate system with actual coordinate system breakdown in a new position. Output coordinates of signs on marking device for application of marking lines finished sheets. Rolled stock is directed to cutting to remove sections of roll with unavailable defects and cut out of finished rolled sheets.
EFFECT: technical result is improved quality of cut roll.
