System for distribution of virus scan tasks between components of an anti-virus system - anti-viral agent and a means installed on first and second virtual machines, respectively, comprises an antiviral agent; an antiviral agent that detects first event in a virtual machine, specifies object relating to event and its type, based thereon determines need for anti-virus scanning, transfers said information to control means; management tool that assigns techniques anti-virus scan of object determines priority of designated anti-virus scanning methods based on criteria for prioritisation, defines components of anti-virus system, by which will be carried out assigned methods of anti-virus checks, depending on computing resources of virtual machines from antivirus scanning techniques utilisation of components, wherein antiviral agent is an antiviral agent and contain various anti-virus scan methods, depending on functionality of virtual machine on which they are installed.

EFFECT: technical result is load balancing on virtual machines during anti-virus scan.
