SUBSTANCE: method for ensuring fault tolerance of antivirus protection of a virtual machine, the method comprising collecting, by an antivirus agent in a virtual machine, information about available security virtual machines which contain antivirus agents for performing resource-intensive antivirus checking tasks; performing, by the antivirus agent, prioritisation of security virtual machines based on prioritisation criteria with subsequent creation of a list of available security virtual machines; connecting the antivirus agent with a higher priority security virtual machine for subsequent transmission of performing resource-intensive antivirus checking tasks; upon detecting a fault in the connection between the antivirus agent and the priority security virtual machine, connecting the antivirus agent with the next security virtual machine from the list of available security virtual machines.

EFFECT: ensuring fault tolerance of antivirus protection realised in virtual environment.
