Disclosed is a method of operating a scanning subsystem which performs antivirus checking of files and issuing verdicts on their belonging to malicious files, according to which on files for which there is no entry in the cache of verdicts, checking whether the same file is currently being scanned by the scanning subsystem in a parallel thread, where the parallel thread is an antivirus check of another file, if the same file is checked in a parallel thread, the check of the file is blocked, and, when the specified file is verified in the parallel thread, another file is processed, a result of processing a file from said parallel stream is placed in the cache of verdicts.
