FIELD: fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making a fire-retardant coating on surface of combustible and non-combustible materials. Method of creating a fire-retardant coating on surface includes a surface preparation, coating it on first coating layer and before drying first coating layer directly on second layer in form of fire-retardant coating matrix containing microencapsulated agent whose shell is filled with intumescent material. Drying of coating is carried out at a temperature below threshold at which a substance in core concluded microcapsules occurs beginning spontaneous chemical reactions and physical processes leading to swelling of substance. Microencapsulated agent is a microcapsule shell which is filled with a substance having properties when heated significant increase in amount of gas and to form a vaporous substances, and shell itself is monolayer. Intumescent substance used is paint or powder, having intumescent properties.
EFFECT: technical result is providing effective fire-retardant coating on surface of combustible and non-combustible material, which allows to retain fire resistance of wood and metal structures, cables, and other products for an extended period of time of their operation.
