FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing isoprene on iron oxide catalysts in adiabatic reactor through dehydrogenation of isoamylenes with supply of steam in layers of catalyst. Steam delivery is performed simultaneously in two flows, first taken for mixing with raw material in ratio 1:(4.02-5.7) before feeding into reactor, and second steam flow in amount of 5-33 wt% of whole part entering reactor of superheated steam is supplied directly in catalyst layer, and temperature of steam fed for mixing with raw material is 650-750 °C and temperature of steam fed directly in catalyst layer, 700-800 °C, steam in catalyst layer is directed through distributing device located at height of 5-95 % of total height of catalyst layer, outer diameter of which correlates with inner diameter of reactor as 0.5-0.98:1.0.
EFFECT: present invention increases conversion, selectivity of the process and reduces power consumption at simultaneous simplification of technology.
