FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: process consisting in catalytic dehydrogenation of isoamylenes in adiabatic reactor in presence of iron oxide catalyst at 580-630 C involving dilution of raw material with water steam is distinguished by that dehydrogenation is carried out in two-step reactor, dilution of raw material with water steam is performed at weight ratio 1:(5-6) with intermediate overheating of the first-step contact gas in interstep overheater by steam coming from the first section of the single- chamber steam-overheating furnace followed by overheating this steam in the second section of that furnace and feeding it together with raw material into the first reactor step. Dehydration temperature is controlled by making a part of steam entering the first section of furnace coils overflow into the second section of coils. EFFECT: reduced specific consumption of steam and increased conversion and selectivity of process. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 4 tbl, 2 ex
