FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: method of controlling braking frequency of electric drive with a multi-level voltage inverter relates to electrical engineering and, in particular, to high-voltage electric drives with multilevel voltage inverters. Brake control method consists in combining first phase and a magnetic dynamic braking deceleration when motor stator windings are short-circuited. At second step of method is applied magnetic braking, leading to complete extinction of electromagnetic energy, and motor is stopped, there is no need for sensor to control motor speed. Using said method step allows magnetic braking more effective damping of electromagnetic processes in motor.
EFFECT: high reliability and efficiency of electric drive in braking mode.
